Refrigeration and Air Conditioning mechanics work with the cooling systems that regulate our temperature over our long hot summers. Work can involve maintaining and repairing individual units, all the way to engineering elaborate cooling systems. Mechanics install, service and repair cooling systems, including split systems, and work with Heating, Ventilation and Cooling (HVAC) systems.

A comprehensive training program covers AHU’s (Air Handling Units), VAVs (Variable Air Volume systems), Chillers, Cooling Towers and ancillary equipment. You'll learn your way around a Building Management System and gain knowledge of air balance, water balance and how to fully install, commission and optimise a VAV-AHU.
The course incorporates working with the latest computing technologies, performing engineering measurements and working with domestic refrigeration and air conditioning systems, commercial/industrial refrigeration systems and commercial aircon systems.
