Staff Resources

The best way to access staff systems is via the new Staff Portal - cut and paste the URL into your browser or use the button below. Use your current single sign on password to access.

Use the staff portal to access:

  • Intranet
  • Webmail (Office 365)
  • VMWare
  • ESS - process and check your leave and pay
  • PayCerts - check and approve pay for your staff
  • OneDrive - your files stored in the cloud
  • Jota - bulk printing service
  • and much more


How to reset your password

If you are having trouble logging into Office 365, please remember your login details are your Staff ID, and your current single sign on password. 

If you have forgotten your password, use the 'Password Manager' to reset your password on You will then be able to reset your password to gain access to Office 365 and Staff Portal.

If you have changed your verification email address or phone number you may find it handy to update them first, before using the Password Manager reset link above. Go here first:

How to check your email

NEW in 2020: SM TAFE is moving to Office 365 for a more fully seamless environment for remote access to email, calendar, OneDrive, Teams and so much more.

If your mailbox has already moved, you would have had assistance from ICT.

If you have not, you are likely to be staffperson that needs to continue using the instructions below:

How to access VMWare

Did you know you can access your work files from home? South Metropolitan TAFE uses VMWare View to allow staff access to our systems and files.

Use the link above to download the software first. When ready, open the shortcut installed on your desktop, and click 'New server'. Add the link listed above, your staff ID in the user name field and current single sign-on password. Once logged in, double click the cloud/screen icon to begin your VMWare session.


How to access Service Desk

Make a request or log an ICT issue remotely by visiting: Find the icon that says 'SM TAFE Service Portal'.


How to access software on home devices

Our licencing model allows staff to run Office 365 from up to 5 devices, including home computers, tablets and phones. Use the instructions above to login to, then see the button at top right for downloading programs to your device.

If you have a staff login for Adobe Creative Cloud, you can use it at home for up to three devices including home computers, tablets and phones. Visit and sign in using your SM TAFE email address and password to download.
