A transitional English course for those wanting to study at diploma or university level.

Do you speak another language at home (not English)?

The Certificate IV in EAL (English as an Additional Language)  - Further Study will prepare you for a wide range of study including Diploma and university (Murdoch University).

This course meets appropriate entry requirements into Murdoch University undergraduate degrees with minimum entry of IELTS Academic score of 6.0 with no band less than 6.0.

A version of this course is available at Murdoch Campus (Classroom based only, no Online available) with a health focus that will assist to meet the entry requirements of Health related courses such as:

  • HLT54115 Diploma of Nursing, State ID AYZ3 *

Requirements of the course

This course includes both online study and on-campus access to lecturer support.

 Once enrolled, you will receive information about how to login to our eCampus and you will need to complete a literacy and numeracy quiz to show you can study online. Your study will involve accessing content online for 3 study modules, followed by a series of online quiz assessments to test your knowledge.

 For the final module of the course, your lecturer will discuss with you opportunities for attendance on-campus to develop your practical skills.

  This course can help you get ready for your first job, or re-skill quickly for jobs that are available as WA's economy recovers. This course is free for 15 to 24 year olds; or those who are receiving JobSeeker, JobKeeper, Youth Allowance, AUSTUDY or ABSTUDY payments; or concession cardholders.
