When you complete  Certificate IV in Training and Assessment you will be ready to start a rewarding career as a vocational trainer, assessor, or lecturer, either in the private or public sector.

The Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is an essential requirement for anyone wishing to deliver vocational education and training for a registered training organisation in Australia.

This qualification replaces the superseded TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training & Assessment.

  • deliver and assess training in a f2f and online environment  
  • design and develop training programs
  • present to groups of learners
  • participate in assessment and validation

In order to make an informed choice about the suitability of this course, you must take into account the essential skills and knowledge required to undertake this study:

  • Effective language, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to develop a range of documentation (e.g., learning programs, assessment tools, written records)
  • Ability to plan and organise, read, research and develop learning and assessment resources
  • A sound working knowledge and application of computer programs e.g., MS Word, Outlook, PPT.
  • A vocational industry area that you are skilled in e.g., Business or Mechanics
  • A workplace that you can complete your assessments in and be observed by a workplace mentor.
