Learn to control COVID-19 related infection in retail

In these unprecedented times, new regulations need workers in retail businesses to manage infection control.

Skills can be applied to specific retail industry needs such as stand alone stores, strip shops, shopping centres, cinemas and game arcades, petrol stations and convenience stores, supermarkets, retail areas within beauty salons, hairdressing salons, barbers and sporting facilities including gyms, markets and museums and galleries.

If you're aged 15—24 years (not at school), receiving the JobSeeker payment, receiving Youth Allowance, AUSTUDY or ABSTUDY or holding a pensioner concession card, Health Care Card or a Repatriation Health Benefits Card issued by the Department of Veterans' Affairs, or a dependent of persons who are inmates of a custodial institution, you are eligible to enrol for free!

Infection control

The Skills Ready infection control skill sets are totally free, for everyone*! 

Please note The minimum age requirement for the Entry Into Care Roles and the COVID-19 Direct Care skill sets is 18 years. For the other infection control skill sets, students must be 15 years of age or older.

Requirements of the course

This course includes both online study and on-campus assessment.

Once enrolled, you will receive information about how to login to our eCampus and you will need to complete a literacy and numeracy quiz to show you can study the course online. Your study will involve accessing content online for 5 study modules, followed by a series of online quiz assessments to test your knowledge.

When you finish your online study, there is a compulsory requirement to attend a practical demonstration and assessment session.
