This qualification is for people working in the maritime industry seeking an Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) certificate as a Coxswain Grade 1 NC to command and operate the engines of a vessel less than 12 metres long.
The National Standard for Commercial Vessels (NSCV) Part D—Crew Competencies requires that a seafarer pass this final assessment prior to the issue of a certificate of competency. The AMSA Mandated Practical Assessment (AMPA) is the practical assessment of your operational skills and knowledge, and knowledge of Australian maritime legislation.
