Work Safety in Confined Spaces on a Vessel Skill Set

On successful completion of this training, participants will be able to: Identify the legislative requirements applicable to entry into confined spaces in the State of Western Australia. Identify what constitutes a confined space. Understand the hazards associated with entering a confined space. Understand contaminated atmospheres. Be able to execute a Confined Space Entry (SCE) permit. Know the minimum safety requirements for entry into a confined space including risk assessment and risk control. Be able to participate in a CSE risk assessment.

This qualification provides the skills and knowledge required by a tradesman working in marine craft construction. Training is project based and covers all aspects of the construction process from design and drawing including the use of CAD , timber construction of plugs, and composite moulds and products.  People with this qualification may work in a manufacturing or repair organisation producing a variety of marine craft from superyachts to kayaks.
