This Qualification develops knowledge and skills for employability as an independent guide within the Marine Tourism, Tourism and Outdoor Recreation industry.

The core skills covered includes planning and guiding outdoor recreation activities, marine and shore based tour guiding, snorkel and kayak guiding, OHS and risk management, first aid, elements of shipboard safety, food preparation on a vessel and quality service.

The skills learnt during this qualification are important life skills and are transferable to other areas of employment.

Scuba Dive in Open Water to a Maximum Depth of 18 Metres Skill Set

State ID: GAA99

This entry level SCUBA diving course teaches beginners how to dive in a safe and enjoyable manner. Once qualified, you are able to dive to a maximum depth of 18m (60ft) with another person of similar qualification or higher.

The course is held over 4 days, including a day of dive theory and equipment familiarisation, a day of learning dive skills in a controlled environment such as a swimming pool, and 2 days of diving in the ocean (with one of these days aimed to include diving off of our diving vessel, the Maritime Image).

This is a PADI certification.

Diploma of Aquaculture

This qualification will provide you with the practical skills and knowledge to manage the operations of fish farms, marine farms and hatcheries. You will learn skills in developing and implementing a breeding strategy, planning ecologically sustainable practices, managing stock health, and developing a stock production plan. You will also learn skills in planning and designing a water supply and disposal system, and stock culture systems and structures.

  • Maintaining and constructing stock culture structures and other farm structures.
