Welcome Days

Semester 2, 2026

Welcome to South Metropolitan TAFE, and congratulations on enrolling!

Starting as a new student or at a new campus can feel intimidating, so please register to attend one of our sessions before classes start to get some hands-on help.

Welcome Days are offered on multiple dates and times. They are not course-specific, so we recommend attending the session closest to you.

Welcome Days (separate from course orientation) will be offered at the following campuses this semester. We recommend attending the session closest to you.

Dates and times will be announced soon:

Registrations coming soon!  Use the link in the Welcome Day email invite that will be sent to you soon to register for a date and time that suits you.

What can you do at Welcome Day?

  • Attend a presentation
  • Activate your SM TAFE (Microsoft 365) student account
  • Access the Student Hub and online learning system
  • Obtain your TAFE student ID card and parking permit, if necessary
  • Apply for a Transperth SmartRider, if necessary
  • Join a campus tour

Student Hub

If you can't attend a Welcome Day, the Student Hub is your one-stop shop for everything you need to support your study journey.  First, you'll need to set up your SM TAFE (Microsoft 365) Student Account.  You'll be able to access your Online Student Orientation, email and timetable, as well as find information about the library, student support services, your enrolment details (via the Student Portal), and more, from one central place.

To access the Student Hub go to studenthub.smtafe.wa.edu.au
