MARF007 Operate Survival Craft And Other Lifesaving Appliances

AMSA refer to this Unit as "Proficiency in Survival Craft other than Fast rescue Boats - PSC" 

A comprehensive mix of theory and practical sessions intended to provide candidates with the skills and knowledge required to perform survival craft operations during shipboard emergency response situations. This course meets the requirements of STCW as revised by Manila Amendments 2010, and is AMSA approved.

  • Escape routes
  • Lifesaving appliances
  • Personal preparation for abandonment & threats to survival
  • Abandonment
  • Personal protection techniques against hypothermia
  • Pyrotechnics
  • EPIRBS, SARTS, AUSREP & AMVER
  • Handling survival craft (life raft, lifeboat open & enclosed)
Prerequisites:
  • Students must be at least 18 years of age
  • Students must have completed at least 6 months of sea service on SOLAS certified vessels.
Please Note:
  • Your position will not be confirmed until payment has been received.
  • Course positions are limited. Practical component conducted at ERGT Jandakot. 100% attendance is required.
  • Minimum dress standards apply to college and ERGT Jandakot attendance: ie closed in shoes be worn ( no sandals, thongs or bare feet), neat casual attire. Shorts and t-shirts are acceptable.
  • Please be aware that ERGT Jandakot will provide attendees with overalls, but participants will need to provide their own swimming costume (and wet weather jacket and pants if it is raining).
