Ready Skills

Evidence tracking for electrical apprentices

Ready Skills is an e-profiling system that provides a digital logbook for electrical apprentices to track their workplace experience. Each week, students log their weekly workplace activities by selecting icons that represent their daily tasks, hours, supervision levels, job details and can upload photos or files. All entries require approval from their workplace supervisor.

Why is this needed?

To meet the requirements set by Building and Energy and the Electrical Licensing Board, students must demonstrate the Essential Performance Capabilities (EPCs), a nationally consistent set of 55 competencies required for licensing, as agreed by the National Uniform Electrical Licensing Council.

Ten units within the electrical apprenticeship specifically cover critical EPCs used for issuing an Electrical Licence. As part of the Assessment Conditions, these units require performance evidence to be collected in real workplace conditions, not simulated environments. Ready Skills supports this requirement by enabling students to digitally capture and submit evidence of their competency in an authentic workplace setting.

Accessing Ready Skills

Students are provided login details and instructions on how to use the platform. Ready Skills is accessible via a mobile app on both Apple and Android devices or through a web browser.
