Hillarys resident Tanya Evans has won the South Metropolitan TAFE (SM TAFE) Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Student of the Year Award.

The awards recognise the achievements of students from across SM TAFE, as well as five major award winners in the categories Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Student of the Year, Apprentice of the Year, International Student of the Year, Vocational Student of the Year and the Cultural Diversity Training Award.

2019 Bentley fashion graduate Julie Mwiragua will compete against more than 30 emerging fashion designers from 14 countries around the world in an inaugural virtual awards competition.

Julie's design Tenderhead was the only WA designer chosen over more than more than 150 applications to make the final of the 16th iD International Emerging Designer Awards, which will be judged and hosted online.
