A new collaboration between South Metropolitan TAFE (SM TAFE) and Flight Centre Travel Group is set to deliver training to 240 travel industry professionals.

Launched in early September, the Flight Centre Travel Group - SM TAFE partnership will up-skill Flight Centre’s local entry-level workforce by offering newly appointed trainees enrolment in the Certificate III in Travel qualification.

An information technology networking student has received a scholarship presented by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC).

Deborah Muller accepted the Women in Broadcast Technology Scholarship in Perth on 21 September.

The scholarship is aimed at women undertaking a technology related course at a TAFE institution or similar and demonstrating an interest in pursuing a career in broadcasting.  In addition, Deborah will receive four weeks of paid employment in Technology areas of the ABC plus a $1,000 book allowance.

South Metropolitan TAFE Gaining Access to Training and Education (GATE) and Certificate I and II in General Education for Adults (CGEA) students have celebrated the official unveiling of their murals, which have transformed vandalised telecommunication huts along the Kwinana Freeway (South Perth) into works of art.
