We are committed to enhancing education and training options through cutting edge facilities and technology, lecturers with real industry expertise and learning programs designed with significant input from industry to ensure highly skilled, job-ready graduates.

As TAFE is a government funded and regulated training provider, you can be assured that we meet the highest standards and cut no corners. 

South Metropolitan TAFE is WA’s most diverse training organisation and the only training provider in the state responsible for servicing both metropolitan and regional communities. We also won the 2016 Large Training Provider of the Year at the WA Training Awards.

We have strong links to the community. We work with more than 400 community and business partners to build a skilled and productive workforce.​​​

Convenient locations, diverse facilities and support services

We have 12 conveniently located campuses, each with an on-campus library, free Wifi and support services for Aboriginal and students with a disability.

We also offer literacy and numeracy assistance to students - just ask your lecturer if this is available for you in your course when you start!

Hundreds of courses and study options to suit you

We deliver more than 300 nationally-accredited courses – from oil and gas, maritime studies and building and construction to health and nursing, environmental science and hospitality. We also offer short courses and skillsets. Our study options are as varied as our student's with on-campus, full time and part time, flexible and online study options available.
