Delivered in partnership with Intaris, the Dhalima (to lead) Cyber Skills Program provides participants with the required entry-level information technology skills needed to gain employment in Western Australia’s cyber security industry.
Students will have the opportunity to be employed with Yira Yarkiny as a security guard* while completing units at South Metropolitan TAFE.
The program covers training costs and related expenses to support you in your learning journey, including:
- Full tuition fees and related expenses
- Guest speakers
- Site visits
- JSC employability sessions
Upon completion, the program offers graduates an entry-level employment opportunity in cyber security roles with Intaris.
Please note that only applications from Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander persons will be considered.
*Eligibility requirements apply, including completion of a 2-week security guard course in May-June 2026 (dates to be confirmed).
About the program
Course: ICT30120 Certificate III in Information Technology (General or Cyber Security stream)
Dates: 20 July to 11 December 2026
Duration: 20-week program, Monday to Wednesday, 8am - 4pm
Location: Thornlie campus, Burslem Drive, Thornlie
To be eligible, applicants must be
- 18 years or older
- Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander
You will also need a police clearance, and a driver's licence is preferred.

2. Submit your application anytime via the Expression of Interest form (even if you haven’t attended an information
session), by 10pm Monday, 25 May 2026.
3. If shortlisted, you will be invited to attend an interview from 27 May 2026
4. Successful applicants will be contacted with an offer of a place from 15 June 2026
