Do you want an eventful career?

The Certificate III in Events, reflects the role of individuals who use a range of well-developed events administration or operational skills and knowledge to complete event-related work activities. Using discretion and judgement, they work with some independence under the guidance of more senior event personnel, using plans, policies and procedures to guide work activities.

Events are diverse in nature and this qualification provides a pathway to work for event or exhibition organisations operating in a range of industries including the tourism and travel, hospitality, sport, cultural and community sectors.

The diversity of employers includes event or exhibition management companies, event venues, or organisations that organise their own events. Work could be undertaken in an office environment where the planning of events takes place, on-site at venues where events are staged or a combination of both.

On completion of your Certificate III in Events, further study pathways exist directly into the Diploma of Event Management; with other pathways leading into Travel, Tourism and Hospitality.

Requirements of the course

Once enrolled, you will receive information about how to login to our eCampus and you will need to complete a literacy and numeracy quiz to show you can study the course online.

Your course study will involve accessing content online for 5 study modules, followed by a series of online quiz assessments to test your knowledge.

When you finish your online study, there is a compulsory requirement to attend a practical demonstration and assessment session. The next fortnightly available dates and locations are:

Rockingham:      Friday 17 July 1pm to 5pm

Murdoch:            Friday 7 August 2pm to 6pm

Thornlie:              Friday 21 August, time to be announced later

This qualification will provide you with well-developed tourism service, sales or operational skills. You'll be taught about using discretion, judgement and having a sound knowledge of industry operations. On completion you'll be able to work under limited supervision and may provide operational advice and support to team members.

This qualification gives you the opportunity to work in the varied tourism industry sectors and for diverse employers including tour operators, inbound tour operators, visitor information centres, at attractions, cultural and heritage sites and any small tourism businesses requiring multi-skilled employees.
