Do you have what it takes to build the right workforce?

When you complete the Diploma of Human Resources Management you will have what it takes for a career as a human resources manager or human resources officer.

You will gain the career enhancing knowledge and skills to build and manage a capable team, recruit the right people, support staff and develop their skills, and manage people performance.

Full-time attendance is equivalent to two and a half days a week.

Completion of the Diploma of Human Resources Management opens up a range of further study options and it may give you advanced standing towards a university degree.

This qualification is not suitable for school leavers as it reflects the role of individuals in Human Resources supervisory and management roles who are responsible for applying human resources skills and knowledge to their work. 

Students should have a significant work history to better relate to the course content.

School leavers or those with limited work experience who are interested in Human Resources may wish to consider the Certificate IV in Human Resources.

Within the human resources sector opportunities for employment include:

  • human resources officer
  • human resources
  • industrial relations officer
  • public relations officer

In Western Australia, human resources officers are employed in a range of industries, including business, finance, insurance, medical, mining and government administration. In smaller organisations, human resources officers are usually responsible for all staffing matters. In larger organisations they may specialise in a particular area such as staff training or recruitment.

This course may be offered with a blended, flexible delivery model to enable social distancing measures to be undertaken during the COVID-19 pandemic. This approach may include a mix of online and classroom based delivery, as well as practical and work experience placements.
