Dieback disease is found all around the Perth Metropolitan area, causing disease in native banksia woodlands and jarrah forests. It attacks the roots of plants by causing them to rot, causing widespread damage to native vegetation.
As per WA Department of Health, Pest Management Technicians Licence, Endorsement 8, this Skill Set will result in knowledge of the identification and treatment of dieback disease.

- identify and assess the effect to plants of plant pests, diseases and disorders (including dieback), and plan and coordinate control measures
