Learn how to operate CNC machinery

The CNC Operations skill set is for qualified/experienced tradespersons employed in an engineering production or manufacturing environment.

This course has been developed specifically, to suit the role of first-class machinists looking to upskill from manual machining and into Computerised Numerical Control (CNC) Machining and Operations.

You will learn how to Program, Set and Operate CNC machinery allowing you to perform machine operations faster and with high accuracy using the latest CNC equipment.

This skill set will provide existing workers with specialist skills in programming, setting, and operating of CNC machinery that covers a broad range of industries.

This course remains FEE FREE in 2024! The tuition fees are 100 per cent subsidised by the WA Government for WA residents.

Skill-sets

You must be a qualified tradesperson in engineering or manufacturing, looking to upskill into defence manufacturing.

Completion of the following units is a prerequisite for this skill set.

  • For the unit MEM07028B Operate Computer Controlled Machines/Processes
    Prerequisite: MEM07024B Operate and monitor machine/process
     
  • For the unit MEM07015B Set Computer Controlled Machines/Processes
    Prerequisite: must meet all of either Path 1 or Path 2 as follows.
