Our Certificate IV in Electrical (Instrumentation) provides eligible persons with the training, skills and knowledge to install, commission, calibrate and maintain modern instrumentation and control systems. This may include loop tuning of multi controller or multi element systems and PLC training where required. 

This course will be of interest to unrestricted electricians, or electrical apprentices in their third or fourth year of study.

You will be expected to apply your developed knowledge and skills to install, maintain and measure the operational parameters in a supervised work place-typically a production factory. Additionally, you will be required to interpret information, make discretionary judgements and be responsible for your own work outputs.

This qualification is directly aligned with priority industry areas where the jobs are today, and into the future. As part of the state government Lower fees, local skills initiative, from 1 January 2020 through to 31 December 2025 you'll only pay half the course fees, capped at $1,200; or $400 (plus resource fee) if you're aged 15—24 or eligible for a concession. Find out more

C Grades in Year 11 WACE General English, and OLNA; or NAPLAN 9 Band 8 C Grades in Year 11 English and Maths or equivalent Certificate II or Certificate III

Successful completion of this qualification provides you with the opportunity to gain employment in the engineering industry or continue study to become an engineering associate in the instrumentation and control field.
