Participants must have previous experience in the painting industry and be seeking licensing with the Building Commission.

This course will satisfy requirements for licensing.

This course will provide you with the skills and knowledge to work as a contractor in the painting and decorating industry. You will learn about surface preparation, coating systems, colour theory and wallpapering techniques. You will also learn how to estimate costs associated with the acquisition of materials and labour on building and construction sites and understand the practice of running a painting and decorating business.

  • On achievement of this course, learners will be able to apply to the Building Commission to become licensed painters which will enable them to become self employed and/or operate in a sub-contracting role in the Painting and Decoration industry.
