Learn how to work with gas safely and correctly
Are you a gas fitter? The Gas Legislation and Safety course will provide you with the Gas Fitting Permit to Work Under Supervision. It comprises of three components, WA Gas Regulations, Gas Safety and Basic Combustion and Flueing.
Successful completion of the final assessment will be needed to receive a completion letter that is required by Building and Energy to apply for a Gas Fitting Permit to Work Under Supervision.
Attendance in class
This course is equivalent to 2 days across one week from 7.45am - 4.15pm. The course is delivered over two days at Rockingham campus. Students who are unable to attend the Rockingham campus may discuss their training and assessment options with lecturing staff; off-campus options can usually be arranged.
Work placement
Work placement is not a requirement of this course.
What you need for your first day of class
On your first day you should bring your SM TAFE confirmation enrolment receipt, your student ID, stationery (a pen and notepad and wear enclosed footwear and equipment from orientation booklet lists). An Electrical Training Licence is required.
