Acquire the specific accounting techniques that will become the tools of your trade. The Diploma of Accounting will build on your knowledge gained at the Certificate IV level, and will prepare you for accounting positions within larger corporate organisations and growing companies. You will gain a more detailed understanding of day-to-day accounting work through practical training in operational activities.

Completion of the Diploma of Accounting, with passes in prescribed taxation units, satisfies some of the academic requirements for registration as a tax agent with the Tax Practitioners Board (TPB).

If you enjoy accounting and mathematics, have an analytical mind and would like to work in the accounting profession, then our Advanced Diploma of Accounting is for you. Accountants support their clients with regular monitoring, analysis, preparation of documents, reports and accounts, and advice.

Our course is developed under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF), in close consultation with and accredited by the Accounting industry’s professional bodies and has an excellent reputation for quality. The Diploma of Civil Construction Design reflects the role of personnel working as designers or design para-professionals who support professional engineers. They perform tasks involving a high level of autonomy and requiring the application of significant judgement in planning and determining the selection of equipment/roles/techniques for themselves and others. They are required to develop site specific work designs to ensure the implementation of the client’s site requirements. They demonstrate the application of a broad range of technical, managerial, coordination and planning skills.

The course content has been designed and selected as recommended and supported by industry to ensure graduates have a strong understanding of Australian standards, business practices, national codes and guidelines.

Our state-of-the-art Training Cyber Security Operations Centre (TCSOC) is now officially open. This new facility provides a secure training environment designed to simulate realistic cyber-attacks relating to attack, defence and monitoring. The TCSOC provides a multi-campus centre based in Murdoch with ‘nodes’ at Thornlie and Rockingham campuses in order for all IT students to experience this leading edge training.

Our state-of-the-art Training Cyber Security Operations Centre (TCSOC) is now officially open. This new facility provides a secure training environment designed to simulate realistic cyber-attacks relating to attack, defence and monitoring. The TCSOC provides a multi-campus centre based in Murdoch with ‘nodes’ at Thornlie and Rockingham campuses in order for all IT students to experience this leading edge training.

The Murdoch campus is centrally located to the Murdoch health and knowledge precinct, making it the ideal location for cyber security training. South Metropolitan TAFE has networks with industry associations such as the Australian Computer Society, Australian Information Security Association and Health Informatics Society of Australia, ensuring our students have access to industry expertise and networking opportunities.

This course is designed for people who are already working in an allied trade and have pre-existing skills. All students must already hold a Gas Fitting Permit to Work Under Supervision from Energy Safety WA (SMTAFE can arrange this) Students will need to record 250 hours of Gas Fitting with a Licensed Gas Fitter in WA as per Energy Safety requirements before they will be issued a permit to work unsupervised. These hours can be accumulated as soon as an individual has a Gas Fitting Permit to Work Under Supervision and are not required for the completion of the Certificate III.

People completing the course will have the skillset needed to work competently as a G class permit holder on all NG and LPG gas installations in WA and can apply to Energy Safety WA for a G class permit to work unsupervised as soon as they have recorded 250 hours.
