Murdoch Student Garden Centre

The Murdoch Student Garden Centre is a centre of excellence in horticulture and pivotal to student's learning for service delivery.

As part of their studies, each semester students propagate natives, herbs and some exotic plants suitable to WA's climate.  These plants are prepared to sell at the Student Garden Centre Plant Sale at Murdoch Campus.

On sale day, shoppers can purchase plants and potting mix made by students, and test the students knowledge in plant care advice. Students also get hands-on experience in planning the sales, including merchandising, promotions, social media and retail interface.

The Garden Centre accepts both cash and EFTPOS sales.

Please note: the Murdoch Student Garden Centre is not open for drop in customers. The garden sales are week-long events staffed by students as part of learning the retail aspects of their horticulture course and happen roughly May and October each year, along with sporadic pop-up sales. We post sale date and time notifications to our Facebook page, so be sure to follow us for updates. We also have email and text message subscription services, available on the 'Subscribe Now' button below.

Coronavirus update for garden centre retail customers

South Metropolitan TAFE is committed to providing a safe environment for our clients, students and staff. As part of our response to COVID-19 and our responsibility to our community, we are making changes to the operation of our live-works sites.

Accordingly, we are continuing to provide training in our garden centre, however will not allowing retail sales from the general public.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and we look forward to welcoming you back when we recommence regular arrangements from our garden centre.
