This short course gives you additional specialized eye makeup techniques following on from the Makeup Artistry skills set at south Metropolitan TAFE. It enables you to work as a freelance makeup artist or in a hair and beauty salon performing makeup. Students are required to have completed a makeup course to have basic makeup knowledge before enrolling into this course.

Course outline:

  • Cut creases on eye lids and surrounding area
  • Lower lash line cut
  • Advanced Eye liner techniques
  • Advanced lash application
  • Refresh on colour wheel and colour harmony

Students in this course use MAC Cosmetics, Kryolan and Dermalogica skincare.

On successful completion of this short course students will achieve a Participation Certificate.

Students are required to provide models, this will be advised by your lecturer prior to your first class. Students are also required to practice their skills at home during this course.

Course requirements:

  • Makeup brushes are to be supplied by the student from previous makeup course
  • All products are provided for each class. MAC, Kryolan and Dermalogica.
  • Students are required to bring a black hand towel, tweezers, wear black pants and black top with enclosed shoes
  • Hair must be tied back neatly and professional presentation of makeup is required
  • Students are recommended to bring a camera or mobile phone to take before and after photos
  • Models will be required for practical classes – this information will be provided by your lecturer

This course is suitable for training supervisors and managers with risk management skills to manage the transportation, storage, application and record keeping of agricultural chemicals (including biological pesticides). Participants must be accredited at Level 3 to achieve competence at Level 4.

Are you interested in working in acute care settings?

 

Health Services Assistance is a physically demanding career which provides assistance to professional healthcare staff for the care of clients.

You will have direct contact with clients and assist them with personal care, communication, mobility and rehabilitation. You will be required to implement programs and procedures to maximise client well being. Acting as an assistant to a nurse or medical practitioner, your working environment can be varied. You may need to work shift hours and will need to use equipment designed for manual handling. This course has a focus on mental health and includes Department of Health units for acute care settings.

Students can expect to attend campus for Tuesday and Thursday classes, 8am to 2.30pm.

On completion you will be eligible to apply for all private health care provider numbers (including Medibank) through nationally accredited massage associations.

Skin Needling, also referred to as; Percutaneous Collagen Induction (PCI), Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT), Dermal Rolling or Dermal Stamping all involve creating a microscopic pin-prick wound with a needle device creating tiny channels into the epidermis engaging the body’s natural wound healing response. Skin Needling is a procedure for the reduction of wrinkles, thin skin density, hyper-pigmentation, photo ageing, scars, and stretch marks.
