Automotive Spray Painting Introduction

This course is designed to teach the basics in automotive spray painting preparation. 

The course covers paint stripping, surface preparation, spray techniques, application of primers and top coats.

You will learn about metal pre-treatments to various surfaces, basic surface preparation, primers and fillers, thinner ratios, gun techniques and applications, top coat application and finishing off processes.

If you wish to bring in a panel to respray you are welcome, however please remember you must take the panel home with you at the end of each night.

Students are required to bring a pen and notebook.

All students are required to wear personal protective clothing at all times which includes steel capped safety boots, clear safety glasses, long pants and long sleeved shirt.

Please note costs associated with painting your own vehicle is not in the course fee.

This course will be delivered in our spray painting workshop at our South Metropolitan TAFE, Carlisle campus.
