DIPLOMA OF SURFACE OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT

This qualification will provide you with the practical skills and knowledge to lead and supervise operations involved in the extraction of materials in an open cut mining operation. You will learn about implementation of risks management and compliance plans in mine operations. You will also develop skills to lead, guide and organise work teams, and contribute to technical solutions. 

The preferred pathway into this qualification is formal supervision of at least two years in the open pit area. You must have a good understanding of the English language as course material is only available in English. Please note that you must be employed as a senior supervisor in the mining department on mine sites to enrol and complete this qualification.
