When you complete the Certificate II in Automotive Electrical Technology (Automotive Electrical Pre-Apprenticeship) you'll have what employers are looking for in an apprentice automotive electrician.

You will have the skills and knowledge to work effectively in the automotive industry, installing, testing and repairing wiring and lighting systems, security systems, electrical components and circuits, read wiring diagrams, and workplace safety and health.

South Metropolitan TAFE is the only TAFE in WA offering this qualification.

South Metropolitan TAFE's Carlisle Campus is WA's major centre for automotive and panel beating studies. Automotive apprentices and pre-apprentices enjoy state of the art facilities, including new vehicles, specialised repair and diagnostic equipment, fully equipped spray painting ovens, specialised workrooms and workshops. This excellent training program is highly competitive.

The work completed for this Certificate is accepted as a large part of the off-the-job training and graduates can complete the Certificate III qualification, required for an apprenticeship, in two years instead of three.
